Chiropractic and Dizziness

What is dizziness?

Dizziness is a common problem for many people but it is not normal. Dizziness can be experienced in different ways, and some of the most common are:

  • Vertigo – feels like the room or the world is spinning
  • Unsteady walk - like after you have been out on the sea
  • Associated symptoms such as nausea and vomiting - or the feeling of having to throw up
  • Some also report symptoms of impaired hearing, headaches etc.

What can cause dizziness?

Dizziness is a condition that can be caused by many factors, including problems with the inner ear, side effects of medications, crystals in the ear canal, Ménière's disease, and in many cases due to problems related to the neck region.

How are chiropractic and tinnitus related to each other?

A subluxation in the neck region has several negative effects on the neurological balance, the blood supply and the cerebrospinal fluid (CSV) that flows into and/or out of the brain. By correcting malpositions in the neck, the integrity of the neck can be restored, which in turn changes the neurological communication between the brain and the body, as well as the hydrodynamic (fluid movement). When the nervous system is in balance, the brain can interpret the signals coming from the body in the best possible way and help with, for example, dizziness - one of the common symptoms people with vertigo describe.

Improve nervous system communication - important nerves that control coordination, balance, and posture can be adversely affected by various states of vertigo. By restoring the normal flow of nervous system communication, this can help to improve the symptoms you may be experiencing.
