Chiropractic and Arthrosis

What is Arthritis

Arthritis, also better known as joint wear and tear, is a compensatory condition where the cartilage between the joints becomes smaller. This often happens due to a lack of normal function in the joint. The body compensates by forming new bone tissue, which in turn reduces movement in the joint.

What is the cause of Arthritis?

The most common form of arthritis is a lack of function in a joint, which in turn causes the body to compensate and adapt as best it can to stabilise and avoid damage. Why some people have more arthritis than others is often linked to lifestyle and occupation.

How are arthritis and Chiropractic related to each other?

A subluxation in the spine has several negative effects on the general function of the joints in our back. By correcting spinal misalignments, the integrity of the joints can be restored, which in turn changes the neurological communication between the brain and the body. When the nervous system is in balance, the brain can interpret the signals coming from the body in the best possible way. When the function of the joints is restored, the development of arthritis can slow down and the joints can function more normally.
